About Us
Founded in 1911, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) is the oldest professional safety society and a non-profit organization committed to protecting people, property and the environment, based in Des Plaines, Illinois, USA.
Today, ASSE is a full-service organization for its members and the public, providing key information and action on occupational safety, health and environmental issues and practices. ASSE members work to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, to create safer work and leisure environments and to develop safer products, enhancing the quality of life.
These efforts lead to positive bottom line results for businesses as they realize a reduced rate of injuries and illnesses leading to a reduction in lost work time, absen-teeism, workers compensation costs, health care costs, and lower employee turnover rates. They also experience increased production rates, increased employee morale and a positive corporate reputation.
ASSE has over 32,000 members located in 151 Chapters, 31 Sections and 38 Student Sections across the globe. Chapters and sections provide local professional development and networking. ASSE members are in 75 countries, including chapters in the Middle East, Kuwait, Nigeria, Papua and Western Australia, with sections in Egypt and Ecuador.
ASSE Kuwait Chapter was founded in 2000 is the Kuwait’s premier voluntary, non-profit making Health, Safety and Environmental organization that strives to provide professional guidance, training, consultancy and resources to the industrial and social sectors in the region. In pursuance to its lofty goals and objectives the society has been organizing international Conferences, Technical meets, Training programs and Outreach activities on way to become one of the most active professional bodies in the Middle East. ASSE is a group of HSE professionals who are deeply associated with the society activities on a voluntary basis to meet the objective of protecting people, property and environment. Keeping the local and global HSE challenges in view, ASSE-Kuwait Chapter has been organizing many events. Already recognized as the busiest professional association of Kuwait in a very short period of time the Chapter has achieved a string of successes and looking forward to reach greater heights in the years to come.
