We take this opportunity to introduce ASSE, which was Founded in 1911, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) a non profit making organization is the oldest and largest professional safety society and is committed to protecting people, property and the environment. Based in Des Plaines, Illinois, USA, ASSE has more than 31,000 occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) professional members, who manage, supervise research and consult on safety, health, transportation and the environment in all industries, government, labor and education through their certified professionals and members

In Kuwait too, small group of dedicated HSE professionals from KNPC started a humble beginning in June 2000, by opening International section of ASSE. ASSE is the Kuwait’s premier voluntary, non-profit making Health, Safety and Environmental organization that strives to provide professional guidance, training, consultancy and resources to the industrial and social sectors in the region.

Since its inception we have made rapid strides conducting various HSE related activities such as Monthly seminars, educational programs, training workshops, campaigns and trainings. We also conducted Four Professional Development Conferences in the May 2001, October 2002, December 2004 and April 2007. These Conferences are first of its kind in the State of Kuwait, which are totally related to HSE aspects. We are proud to inform you that in June 2002, Kuwait section has been elevated to “ASSE-KUWAIT Chapter”, a rare achievement in a short span of time. Current membership of ASSE-Kuwait Chapter stands at 375, which includes members from a wide cross-section of professionals having Engineering and Science background working in small, medium and large organizations including oil sector. We are proud to say that Kuwait Chapter is having highest membership base among all ASSE international Chapters around the globe.

Since the key mission of the chapter is to provide professional development opportunities for its members and a platform for those who contribute for the well being of their employees and the public to propagate their knowledge and ideas, ASSE Kuwait chapter organizes technical meets for various topics under SH & E every month and this keeps our members on a continuous improvement path. Since its inception chapter has organized more than 70 technical seminars, 25 valuable training programs and various out reach activities for school children to inculcate HSE awareness in their young minds.

We are a strong 375 member society now and we always strive and do our best to provide quality professional development opportunities to the members and to other HSE professionals around Kuwait.

ASSE – Kuwait chapter has already recognized as the busiest professional association of Kuwait in a very short period of time the Chapter has achieved a string of successes and looking forward to reach greater heights in the years to come….
